mystery shopper work

I would like to try to get work as a mystery shopper. I was contacted saying I had been approved but have to fill in a form which seems to entail me having to download games and playing them for several hours (the ad states the required time ) which I don't have time to do!

Does anyone do this work and had a straight-forward application process?

I am registered with several mystery shopping companies, none of which have ever required me to download and play games! Which company is it?

I will say though that mystery shopping won't make you much money, if that is what you are doing it for.

Actual mystery shopping sites won't make you download games and play them to register to you'd be better off looking elsewhere if you want to do it. As mentioned above though you don't really make money from doing it. I've given up doing them because there's a lot you have to do sometimes (photo of yourself, photo of the shop, buy something and then take it back) you then have to fill in the form within a certain amount of time so it would take over an hour in total (plus travel) and I'd end up sitting in Costa or equivalent filling in the form and spend as much money as I was getting paid lol! If I'm actually going to be somewhere and one pops up I might do it just for fun.

Thank you. I got so diverted to different pages and games that I can't even tell who I applied to for that mystery shopping work.

I have found an app called Roamler with some clear tasks that seem to involve a lot of taking photos in a shop for £3! Not a good way to make money then.

I signed up to a few and had a similar experience, though one contacted me last week and offered me £60 for a hours work, I now wish I had done it but was worried it sounded too good to be true. Getting all the emails and texts about online casinos put me off.

I've done it in the past and it's hardly worth it. I used to have to walk from my house to a local chain coffee shop, order a coffee, drink it and check the loos, fill in a form that took about 20 mins and walk home. All for £7 😂

I think It's only really worth doing if it's places on your doorstep that you'd be passing/going to anyway.

aounds strange. I’ve done it in the past and haven’t made money from it- at most of got a free/cheap meal/ item. So I got a free meal (within reason up to £20) . I took husband so we had to pay for him and got a couple of tops and jeans for me and children- but again you’ll get like £20 so you’ll either have to contribute or limited choice of what you buy. You then have to ask specific questions and note specific things then write a report/ do a questionnaire . I’d say the whole thing takes 2 hours. It’s a bit of fun really. X

I don't understand how they're legal, much lower than minimum wage rates.

I used to be a mystery restaurant/cafe reviewer. Never had to play games to sign up though- that sounds more like surveys online or a scam!

I had to order say 1 entree, 1 main and a soft drink. I had to write a review and take certain photos. Majority of the time, I only got what I spent re-imbursed and ate the meal- rarely actually got any extra money.

I stopped, because I already work full time, and the restaurant times were often mid week, lunch times. I was living between zone 1-2 London, and even then, often had to travel to places and with this company, transport was also not covered.
