Any ex-residential property solicitors here?

I’m a residential property solicitor, currently working in a technical support role which allows me to work PT.
The company I work for has been sold, so things have changed from a bit like a conveyancing factory to full on conveyancing factory where I’m no longer allowed to think for myself. I’ve had enough.
Has anyone left residential property law recently?

Yes, I stopped practising as a property solicitor back in 2019. I was getting burnt out and it just wasn't worth my sanity (or my family's sanity!)

Happy to answer any questions or chat if you need to.

Thank you @spykey . What do you do now?
I’ve been fortunate to not be client facing for the last 7 years but I’ve had enough.

I work in LegalTech now. I freelanced for a year or so to figure out what I wanted to do and then found this role a couple of years ago. I am SO happy now - no regrets at all. And my salary is more than when I was a solicitor.

Skills are much more transferable than we think when we're in the legal bubble, and lots of companies out there want ex sols as they can bring valuable experience of the industry with them.

I guess the question is - is it this firm that's the problem or the role itself?

It’s the firm. I love the role itself but it’s niche and the way the firm now requires us to do it has changed too much for my liking.
Plus the fact they were offering sabbaticals for up to 3 months has made me concerned about further redundancies. (That goes for resi in general).
What does your role involve @spykey ?
