When to request part time hours

I have an interview for an internal job coming up.

Currently I work 32 hours over 4 days, instead of 36 over 5, so just shy of full-time. I'm flexible on day, so doesn't necessarily need to be my current day off.

Do I discuss hours at interview or if I am lucky enough to get the job after an offer has been made.

What is etiquette with negotiating hours/flexibility?

TIA

I think it depends if you’d take the job even without the part time hours? If it’s a dealbreaker for you I’d bring it up at the end of the interview. Otherwise I’d wait until after the offer.

I do think hours/days should be discussed at the interview. This is part of the process on looking for the suitable candidate. They may even mention it anyway, so you can begin negotiations from there

Thank you both.

It's not a deal breaker necessarily but would definitely be useful to have in the next few years.

Generally as a company they are flexible but I'd imagine it varies between department. It's a different department to my current one, so I'm not sure on this particular team.

I don't think you should bring this up until you're offered the role - there's no point making you look possibly slightly less desirable.

I always wait until offered the role.

Thank you.

I think I'll wait and if I get an official offer then negotiate hours!
