Can someone help me with the maths before I submit my flexible working request?

Ok so I currently work 3 days per week (22.5 hours).

I want to propose I go term time only, but increase my hours during term time so I'm not losing any pay.. but how would I even begin to work out what this makes my shifts during term time?

So to condense my hours into term time only not lose the hours, preferably over 4 days during term time. How do I math this?!

22.5*52/39/4 = 7.5 hours for 4 days per week, 39 weeks of the year.

You need to work out your annual hours - 52x 22.5 = 1170 hours.
The those hours need to be split across your term time weeks. Remember that you'll have annual leave to take too

Are you in an industry that is going to benefit from you only working in term time?

Malibu12 · 03/12/2023 20:42

22.5 hours x 52 weeks = 1170 so that's currently how mamy hours you work a year.

How many weeks term time do you want to work, remember you'll still have annual leave to use.

One you know how many weeks you want to work, you'll then do 1170 ÷ x amount of weeks and then divide the answer by 4.

1170 hours a year you work, over 39 weeks (school term) it is 30hrs a week.
assuming a 7.5hr working day you could get it into 4.
