Organisational structure change

We have had an email to say my team and a few other teams need to attend a briefing next week about an organisational structure change. This happened a few years ago and a lot of jobs were deleted with new posts created and we had to reapply for the new jobs. Is it likely jobs will be deleted or people made redundant?

I don't think anybody here can answer that.

Yes, end of year is a classic restructuring and redundancies period.
Start taking note of everything and know your rights.
It might be good news, but it’s prudent to be ready for anything they throw at you.

In my experience, yes. Restructures usually happen with the aim of saving money, so some roles are reduced in number, eliminated or consolidated. It's an awful, anxiety-inducing process for everyone, but, however much companies might try to project an image of caring about their employees, ultimately they exist to make a profit, so they'll do this kind of thing whenever it suits them to - even just before Christmas Sad.

Be prepared for the possibility of having, in some form or other, to reapply for your own job - this would be a good time to review your skills and achievements, possibly to update your CV in case the worst happens.

Hoping everything works out OK for you.

I’ve had similar this week and I work for a large bank. We’ve been told our role is removed and a new one created which is similar which we have to go through a selection process for. It’s awful especially at this time of year.

No advise for your particular circumstances other than I feel for you. A day calls are never a good sign x
