well I'm actually drinking beer but I did have a glass of the other stuff earlier (and if anyone I know in rl is on here - sorry about the champagne - it's not a celebation - it's more about marking one of the top 5 biggest things I've ever done)

It was a hard day and not without a couple of (very discrete) tears. and if I call to mind some of the people I hold dear, the tears threaten again. so I try not to. They also threaten for a host of other reasons - the fact that it's been 10 years. the fact that it's an organisation I am passionate about.

It's been a long time coming - for reasons I won't go in to. But it was, absolutely, the right decision.

I have no job to go to, as such. but some interesting projects to pursue. in actual fact I am very pleased with that - it sends a very clear message that this was largely down to push factors rather than pull ones.

Not entirely sure what lies ahead but blimey I feel liberated. exhausted, drained, tired and emotional. but liberated.

oh you are brave, it must have felt like a leap into the unknown doing that.

Well done, glad you are happy. Best of luck for the future

milge · 12/03/2008 23:12

oh! hat
well done, it sounds like aboslutely the right decision
imagine how good you will feel in the morning
as long as you don't drink too many more

mistlethrush · 12/03/2008 23:13

Good luck. I once resigned with no job to go to and I don't regret it at all. Hope it turns out similarly for you.

edam · 12/03/2008 23:13

Well done, that woman!

WanderingTrolley · 12/03/2008 23:16

Congratulations on your new found freedom!

It sounds like you have a very exciting time ahead of you, with time to choose What To Do Next - enjoy every minute of it, I'm rather envious.

Hurray for you!

hatwoman · 12/03/2008 23:18

it was an independent decision but it should make this plan a little more realistic

Re the dream thread: Has your DH chucked his job in too or is yours the first step?

hatwoman · 12/03/2008 23:40
