NHS part time to bank?

Hello.
I returned to work in a new trust and role in March. I am working 22.5 hours over 3 days. I have a brilliant job with an amazing manager. My 16 month old goes to nursery 2 of those days and my mum looks after him on another day. I have a caseload which is piling up. I am finding myself doing work in the evenings. A lot of people have said they found it easier working full time because their caseload is more spread out. My partner is working away 4 months. Therefore i am solo parenting. I don't want the extra workload. I want to spend my evenings with my LO and not rushing to get him to bed because I've got work to do. I am so fortunate to only have to work 3 days but i want to be around more for my LO. I am thinking of doing bank, if my job role will allow. I can commit to shifts every week however it would hopefully mean having less of a big workload and an endless caseload. When my partner is at home, i can pick up more shifts. Is there anyone who has decided to do bank only? If so, how did you find the transition?

Also trying to manage the dreaded nursery illnesses and being the only person who can care for him. I've had so much time off work!

Hi just read your message. Don't really have much advice really, not sure what your role is, I'm in nursing, part time in NHS.
Are you expected to work at home? It's unfair you get the same workload as someone full time.
I know it's very difficult when they are young, my DH andI worked opposite each other so one of us was always there due to our shifts. If your DH is away will be so much more difficult.
The only thing about bank is you won't get sick pay and will there always be shifts in the area you want to work.
Hopefully someone will comment with some advice!
