Treatment in office after secondment decision

Hi All,

Last week I managed to get my secondment (I posted how to negotiate about it). After an initial "no-go" suddenly my manager agreed out of blue. I was a bit taken aback that everything I asked for (early start date etc) was agreed on within days. I wonder what is happening here.

However, now I see a new behavior which is making me a bit paranoid. My manager is calling me out more in meetings than previously. She is making me feel guilty of leaving the team by asking me if I can meet deadlines in the meeting itself within given timeline. I don't like putting too much focus on myself in meeting kind of situation and I ALWAYS cover my deadlines. I have been in this role for 3 years and not one deadline has passed when I did not submit on time.

I wonder if she wants me to leave & that's why she is making me stand out? Has anyone gone through this? How do you deal with such situation. I am not sure what the future holds currently so cannot say if I am coming back or not.

I am excited about my secondment though.

any advice please,
xx

Is she worried that she will be blamed if "stuff" you do will be missed once you leave?

I would be a little proactive and do up a list of all your tasks and a status update and send it out before a day or a few hours the meeting. And that way you both have written proof of how the handoff was managed.

Good suggestion, I will try next time we have a meeting. I will not leave the team hanging for sure. Haven't done so far.
