and i am so nervous! Tell me it gets easier please. Had 13 months of work to have my baby and he is now eleven months old. Have barely spent more than half a day away from him. I am dreading it! xx

Oh, I am going back on Monday too.....DD2 is now 1 year........actually am looking forward to it but that is prob cos my mum is CMing and so am totally relaxed about childcare.....not looking forward to the commute though!

You will be fine!! xxxx

Good luck for Monday you two. It will take time to get into a new routine, but I'm sure you will enjoy adult conversation again It will be even more special when you see your baby when you get home. Enjoy the best of both worlds

Cheers KKx!!

You'll be fine. Adult conversation is a bonus, as is managing to drink a whole cup of coffee uninterrupted!
Enjoy!

So how was your first day back at work girls?

K999 · 03/03/2008 20:42

Was brilliant!! Lunch hour, coffee breaks, going for a pee on my own, sitting on the bus day dreaming......

Broodymomma · 03/03/2008 21:20

So glad your day was good! Mine was fine too but god i missed my baby badly. Also use a radio at work and managed to transmit myself having a pee and flushing toilet to the entire workforce - mortified!

OMG.....that is sooo funny!

Glad your day went well. I know what you mean about missing them so much, although I have to say that I am lucky in that my mum is a CM so have total confidence in who I am leaving dd2 with!!!

Goo to hear it you two, that's how I felt going back, a nice rest x

So glad it went well for you both. Good luck with the settling back in. Don't beat yourselves up about what doesn't get done at home, would be my advice. I went back early and hated the fact that I wasn't being a great employee or a star wife, or a top mother. Realised, eventually, that it was my own personal expectations that were keeping things off kilter. Once I relaxed about that, things got easier!

Have fun!!!!

All the best for Monday. I was going to be going back to work on the same day but decided to take an extra 3 months with no2. Although he's 5 months old, he still feeds every 2 hours, including at night - and, with a toddler, too, I know I don't have the physical/mental energy to work yet. And huge difference was that when I went back full-time when no1 was 5.5 months old, he was being looked after by his father, so no nursery/childminder issues. There are lots of great things about working, but I've always been much more exited to be going home since there's been a child to get back for. Hope your colleagues are sympathetic without being patronising/assuking you don't want to talk about anything other than nappies and weaning.
