I’m 36, enjoy my job as a copywriter, could do with learning something to keep me busy when work is quieter. I’m good at writing and editing, and collating lots of complex info and making it digestible. I work with big tech firms and do a lot of heavy-duty whitepaper editing and research writing related to software security and AI ethics.
I’m in no massive hurry to leave my current role as it’s flexible and easy, but thinking ahead I want to maximise my earning and career potential once DC are more independent. I’m a single parent so can’t quit and retrain - it needs to be something I can do on the side.
I’ve thought about learning bid writing or perhaps studying law on the side and going into tech-related law in the future - anyone in either of these professions who can advise/warn me against them? I’ve always particularly fancied law but circumstances prevented me from going into it post-uni - is it still worth a shot? I’m hoping my professional experience might help me get a foot in the door as I have a bit of a niche.
Thanks in advance!
