Hi I am thinking of applying for a job at a hospital after been out of work for a little while. I am just wondering does have any insight into the NHS dress code? I would like to wear a long sleeve shirt under the tunic. The reason been I have plenty of tattoos and I feel more comfortable if they are hidden away. Would this be allowed? Thank You

It depends what sort of job you’re looking for. If it’s patient facing then you have to be bare below the elbow so it wouldn’t be allowed. Lots of staff have tattoos on show any way

Depends on your role - if you are clinical in all likelihood you will need to be bare-below-the-elbow. If admin, then probably won't be a problem.

By tunic do you mean scrubs? You can wear a t-shirt under to keep warm but as other's have said it's bare below the elbow for infection control. Plenty have tattoos on our wards uncovered.

Yep as above we're all bare below the elbows with plenty of tattoos about in our ward.

Thank you for your answers. I apologize for the late reply. To be honest I forgot I posted this question then I saw my email inbox and I thought whoops. The role I am applying for is Phlebotomist. So i'm guessing then its bare below the elbow.
