Would I leave a job for a temp one

Hi I am having a severe inner battle with myself. I'm currently in a cleaning job its nightshift but doesn't pay too well. But there's a temp position opening up soon in the building I clean for. There's a chance to go permanent but I'm worried about leaving a permanent job to go to a temp one

I'm not happy where I am and it doesn't give me the challenges I'd like where as the other job would and I could move up in it whereas I can't in my current job

My coworkers did warn me not to leave this job for the temp one when I did join them so I am worried. Do I take the plunge and join and possibly go permanent if I do or stay at my current job

What's the situation with it being temp? Is it a mat cover or covering someone due back? What's turnover like? What's the chances of staying?
It sounds like a better fit and it can open doors? Once you invest and train and they are good - makes sense to try and keep that person if you can

I have done twice. Much happier.

It's a temp role for 9 months and can have chances of becoming permanent its within an amazon warehouse. I was there before I loved it but i was only seasonal I got employed in November and due to rampdown I got let go but I was a good employee according to managers I also had a string of bad luck due to sprained ankle usually I'm never off but this Time I was off for a while which didn't help my case

I know if I was to go back I know I wouldn't do what I did last time (I sprained my ankle due to heels) so I know how to prevent that and I can prove my worth to them but im scared of the backlash from other employees on the cleaning side for going back

I don’t get why it’s temp. Is it because they want to try out the new employee before offering a permanent contract? If so, go for it.

But if it’s temp because they don’t expect to need that role for long, don’t go for it.
