I'm so cross right now with potential employers treating my kids badly.
Adult ds offered dream job verbally over 6 weeks ago. Since then has repeatedly called employer and keeps being fobbed off saying HR will be in touch then nothing. What should he do ? Chase it up with the employers HR department directly to see if the job actually exists ? Why do employers mess people about like this.
Any advice welcome or is six weeks not that long in the grand scheme of things?

Does he know the name of the hiring manager? If so, I’d get in touch with them directly for an explanation as that really isn’t on.

Oh god , I do sympathise. I'm on the other side , organising, or trying to organise, our new graduate intake . I keep getting calls from the grads saying they haven't heard anything, I chase the line manager and the recruitment team but also get fobbed off !

Hi @Babyroobs 6 weeks in the civil service is normal but in a company i would say 6 weeks is a bit long. Could he speak to the HR manager?
Hope things get sorted soon.

It is a football club. He just doesn't know whether he should just start looking for other jobs. He will be gutted if it doesn't work out. When they offered him the job they were so keen telling him how he had excelled at interview. Now nothing. the circumstances of the club have changed but surely they should let him know if the job is no longer there ?

And everything going so wrong for my dd, just left school, interview went well or so she thought, they asked for uniform size, when she could work etc, virtually led her to believe she had been successful then an email a couple of hours later saying it's a no. Why do this ? No need to ask for uniform size when they are not going to offer the job that could surely be asked later. Sorry for the rant just feeling very pissed off with it all today. i guess we are super sensitive when our kids are upset !
