Interview questions- internal applicant

I have an interview this week for a promotion as an internal candidate. I'm wondering about what questions I should ask at the end of the interview or if it's ok to not have any? I already know the full details of the role, the progression opportunities and the ethos of the organisation. I really can't think of a question so would it be ok not to ask?

Think it's fine not to ask much if you're internal candidate but it's always good to ask something just do you don't sit there and shake your head.
Eg could ask when they're hoping to make a decision on the successful candidate

If is a different department or business area of the organisation make sure you know about their plans for the next 5 years. Maybe ask what the three priorities are for the role, major challenges etc.

Most important things for me when I do an internal role move is handover and transition, what would the timeline be, how would it be agreed between new and old manager, what is cut off if old role is not filled quickly. It's fairly common 8n think that you can end up keeping some old tasks because no one else wants them and the ideal would be a clean break.

You might find you have a question that comes up during the interview.

I interviewed internally this week and the internal candidate (and one external) didn't ask any questions.

I would ask what the managers management style is and how I would know that I was performing well.

I wouldn't worry if you already know about progression, if you cant think of a different question I would ask what the career path could look like for you. They may not know what youdo orr dont know - asking about it in the formal environment of the interview means they know your intention is to progress and they're more likely to give a meaningful answer.

I have asked a question in a recent promo interview that I thought I know and got a nugget more than I expected.

It's a new role being created under the same manager as I currently have. And I intend to stay in my current role as both roles are part time.
