Which job would you choose?

Job 1 - a standard job in a cafe, one full weekday and every Sunday. Take home around £700. Nice team, staff benefits and discounts. No paid holidays as zero hour so 12.7% added to wage for holiday pay. Don't have to pay childcare as works round kids. No pension.

Job 2 - job within the NHS. Full training given. 13 hour contract, 1 evening and 2 mornings and Saturdays on occasion . Chance to progress, NHS pension, 5 weeks pro rata holidays. Would need childcare for the 2 mornings and would take home around £550.

I just realised I put within the NHS and not where.. it would be as a GP receptionist.

I just don't know if it's worth the childcare costs.. especially coming up to the summer holidays so it would be for both children.. to then have to take both kids to 2 separate ends of the town all before starting at 8am.. to come home with less money a month.

I mean short term pain long term gain and all that and it would be absolutely lovely to get my weekends back.. but is it worth the stress?

I was so excited to start this job too, but now I feel like just curling up in a ball and crying xx

I'm already at the cafe.. job 1 is my current job.. job 2 is a job I have been offered.

Worst case scenario, would you be able to return to the cafe job or similar if the new offer didn't work out?

Can you still pay all your bills either way? It sounds like yes, so neither decision is going to cause anyone harm.

It is normal to feel nervous about a big change.
