Paternity leave at Natwest

We are TTC and my husband has just got a job at Natwest, which has a very generous paternity leave policy. Does anyone know if he needs to have worked there for 26 weeks (or longer) to be entitled to taking up to 6 months paid paternity leave? Thank you!

Normally for paternity policy they need to inform their manager the same time you do, ie by 26 weeks of pregnancy. He needs to look into the individual companies policy though which he should be able to do anonymously or through email to HR. As you are ttc it shouldn't be a problem by the time you get that bfp. Good luck!

My OH works for them & is about to take advantage of this policy but he's been there 20 years. Surely a question for HR?! Or if wanting to be discreet there's got to be something on the internal website, I used to work for them for ten years & always found everything I needed there.

Thank you he is due to start next week so didn't necessarily want to ask HR straight up just yet, but you're right I'm sure it will be on the internal site somewhere

@sas023 i always write policies that require an employee to first meet statutory requirements and then add on for occupational elements.

I would expect Nat West to have its policies freely available on the company Intranet. As soon as DH has his log ons he can do a search in his lunch break.
