Are there any nursery administrators on here?

I have a job interview coming up for a nursery admin role. My background is as a nursery teacher, I left this role last autumn to work in an office so I could gain some admin experience but I would love to return to the EY environment as I really miss it!

I have been the deputy manager in previous settings so I have a good understanding of how nurseries operate but I wondered if anyone can offer any advice as to the specific sorts of tasks that an administrator would carry out?

TIA

I come from a nursery and our admin answer the phones, pass on messages, complete funding and registration forms, manage our online feeds media. Arrange staff training, repairs etc. Print registers for us. Not sure what else but they always seem busy.

My dd is a nursery admin.
Including the above, she also does displays and putting peg names up.
She has also been known to cover staff absences by being in with the children.

Thanks @Meltinthemiddle , that's helpful and kind of what I thought so that's good!

Thanks @cryinglaughing yes, I can see how that side of things could fall to the admin staff - always happy to do a bit of laminating!

As well as the above , arranging intake of new children , arranging parents evenings, sports days , orientation evenings for new parents , home visits for new starters. Answering parent queries , magically producing any printouts needed eg sponsorship forms , certificates of participation for sponsored events , arranging coach travel and tickets for the annual day trip for the older children . Keeping waiting list registers, writing policies and procedures .

It's going to depend on the set up at that Nursery. Presumably a lot will be to do with payroll as well as things mentioned above.

Thanks all, some good advice and info. It sounds like the admin role is going to depend on the setting which I totally understand having previously worked as a deputy manager without any admin support (i.e. doing the admin as part of deputy role!).
