I wasn't sure what to put for a subject! I am looking for opinions please on how to navigate this going forward.

I am a nurse and moved into a nurse advisor job working with the homeless which was a community role. However, when the pandemic struck it moved to a WFH position making it a non desirable position for me and my patients. The pandemic for me brought loss of friends and my mental health struggled WFH as well as other life events. Once we were out of lockdown my head of service said we would continue to WFH and I knew I couldn't continue with this so I left and stupidly left and went into management (on my second management role in the past year). I have to say I really am not enjoying management and much prefer my patient contact.

Anyway, here I am and the charity I worker for, albeit a different sector are advertising for another community role and I would like to apply. It is essentially the same role but for a different team but more travelling involved (which is fine). It is a fantastic charity and I really want to be back working with them. I didn't keep in contact with my former colleagues/manager so I can't really reach out to them.

My questions are, would this be frowned upon by me reapplying considering I left before? (however the role I did before was WFH). Will they not consider me based on the fact that I struggled during the pandemic?

Just apply. Not completely sure who is doing the frowning or why but you’ll regret it if you don’t try. It sounds like you are ready for a move.

No, you should absolutely apply. You can explain that wfh didn’t suit you and that’s why you left, and that you want to be out and about meeting people. You have nothing to lose by applying!
you sound like a wonderful nurse and we are desperate for community nurses. If you don’t get this job then apply for others

It's fine. You left because of the WFH aspect and this is different.

of course not
good luck

Thank you very much for you replies @BHRK @JeandeServiette @WeightInLine @Willmafrockfit , I will waif to hear if I am shortlisted. I suppose they will want to make sure that I don't leave again, that I am resilient and able to cope should I have to WFH temporarily again. Any idea as to how I can put this across if I am shortlisted? I believe I'm a good nurse but equally not so great at putting across what I want to say and my passion for helping others.

You sound lovely, they will be lucky to have you.

Say you have ‘gained insight’ from the pandemic and are confident that you can handle whatever is required. Good luck! Let us know how you get on.
