Can anyone advise me on getting into physiotherapy?

Considering training at 40.
I'd love to do the apprenticeship but it's not available in my area.

I want to eventually get into women's health/ pelvic floor physio.

I see some physio assistant jobs but they seem to require experience?

Alternatively, is physio a horribly bad idea?

Physio isn’t a bad idea if you are interested in it. I would start by looking for Band 2/3 NHS jobs if you don’t have any experience as things such as therapy assistant or healthcare assistant in rehab settings.

From there, more opportunities such as degree apprenticeships would open up to you as sometimes they are only available to people already working in an assistant role. You could also look for physio degrees part time and then spend the rest of the time working in something related or at a sports center, admin for a related company etc.

Thanks!
I hadn't realised some paths only open once you have a related job, that's really useful.
