How much discount off school fees if work in school?

Hello!

I am just curious if anyone works at a private school and what discount you get off the school fees?

My son is starting at a private senior school in September, and my daughter could potentially start at the nursery next September as they also offer funded hours.

I have a social work degree but haven't used it yet as had my daughter in the last year. My background is TA/LSA.

My sons new school have a few LSA jobs going and I'm intrigued as they say they offer "discount on fees for children at the school".

So I am just curious really! Thank you.

Which would you rather do long term? If you don't do your Probationary year in Social Work then you won't be able to maintain your registration, and it may be very difficult to get a job as a social worker after a break. Your earning potential is much higher and would outweigh the fee discount.

However, as a TA you'd be able to work school time only which is an advantage.

My dd teaches at a private school . She gets 50% off her children's fees.

Unfortunately, I have already gone past my year. But I do know private agencies who would be willing to take me on and do my ASYE with them though! So it's not totally out of the question.

I worry about being a social worker and having a young child though. My friends who I graduated with are all struggling and they don't have young children!

Thank you. I am sure the discount would be lower for just a TA.

it varies considerably from school to school. I have 75% and work as support staff. My husband in another school gets 50%. It may be reduced if you don’t work a full year.

Sorry, what do you mean if I don't work a full year?

I imagine she means if the contract is term time only and pay is reduced accordingly.
