Overtime pay that is not worked.

Hi hoping someone can help my employer recently rejected me a pay rise but my manager has told me I can submit 10 hours a month extra overtime that I do not have to work to subsidize my pay. Is this normal practice or not? Any help would be appreciated.

Get that in writing

Never heard of this. Sounds dodgy and could get you into trouble. It’s fraud for you to submit a request for overtime you didn’t do and fraud for your manager to approve it. Did your manager say if anyone else was doing this?

My friend had this. Went for another job in house and knew what the previous employer was on. Got the job, asked for the same salary and was declined but has been told on the side I’ll pay you an additional four hours a week. Sounds shifty to me but she’s had no issues so far.

Sorry employee not employer 🙄

I would also say get it in writing. Otherwise when someone finds out you will be accused of theft and sacked. At best.

Is your manager "doing you a favour"? You could both be done for gross misconduct if this was discovered. If you can't get it in writing then don't claim it. No, it's not normal.
