Never got back to me after interview

I went to a management level, day long interview at the beginning of May, thought I'd done well but they were interviewing several other candidates during that week and the following week. Was told we'd hear after everyone had been interviewed. Even received an email that evening thanking me for coming and saying they'd be in contact in due course. I replied thanking them, was very enthusiastic and said how friendly everyone had been etc.

I haven't heard anything since! No 'phone call, no text, no email, nothing. I'm assuming I didn't get the job otherwise they'd be beating a path to my door, but I'd at least expect a follow-up email saying sorry, you didn't get it.

To be honest, I'm pursuing something else now (they won't know, they're in a completely different part of the country) so I'm not overly bothered but I've never had interviews before that haven't communicated the outcome, even if I haven't got the post. Should I just contact them, saying "I assume I wasn't picked but I haven't heard, could you confirm" or leave it entirely?

Any thoughts?

Yes definitely email them asking for any feedbacks from your interview that you would be much appreciated.

As you need to know, as it may be they are not chosen anyone yet or they have as the other person may have more experience etc...

Yes - ask for feedback - it may help in next job

Based on my relative's recent experience of job hunting I fear this is becoming a thing.
Bloody rude to not keep in touch even if they're still deciding.

It’s so rude and dismissive of your time.

I had an interview recently and they got back to me to tell me that the advert was wrong and it was 10K less. I would never have bothered to even apply at 10K less - let alone all the preparation and day it took.

They are knobs op.

Always the chance a genuine mistake was make, spelling typo on your email etc. Ask politely- you never know.

Thanks for your comments, very helpful. I sent an email late yesterday saying that since I hadn't heard anything, I assumed I hadn't got the job but I would welcome any feedback. I made it a nice, friendly email and we'll see what they say.

I've already chosen the other job now, so I have nothing to lose. But I put in lots of time and effort for this particular interview, including staying overnight locally as it was so far to travel (and not an offer of expenses either). So I would actually appreciate them letting me know, even if it's 'Sorry, no thanks'....

My daughter had this experience recently. If they are that rude, they wouldn’t be a good employer anyway.

Companies are very rude. I had this last year with one of the City Regulators. Application, completion of task (which was significantly under stated in terms of time), all afternoon interview (OK online) so no travel. Lots of push back from multiple HR reps about my salary, not sending HR details (which I had), and a couple of other bits. Then nothing until I received an email "Are you still looking for a new job? If so please take a look at our vacancies". So clearly I hadnt been offered the job. I emailed and asked for feedback whilst expressing annoyance as to their communication around the offer. I explained I had feedback to provide. Their feedback was total jargon - mine surprised them apparently. Lots of excuses. I would never apply to the FCA again. No wonder retail regulation in the UK is so poor.
