Hello

Just wondered if anyone could recommend any careers book they have found helpful. I'm particularly interested in anything on women in the workplace, presenting, management but anything else is also potentially of interest.

Thank you.

The two that really resonated with me personally were Playing Big by Tara Mohr, and How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie which is so old and yet still universally applicable...

I've also heard the Pathless Path by Paul Millerd, and Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman recommended a lot, but I haven't read them yet!

Just coming back to this thread to make a recommendation in case it’s helpful to anyone else- Lift While You Climb by Viv Groskop. It also has a useful reading list at the end so my kindle is now full!

How to get the job you want by James Caan from dragons den. This was recommended to me by a former manager when I wanted to change up my career and get a bit further up the ladder. It was very good, essentially don’t apply like a scatter gun, pick what you really want, tailor tailor tailor everything, do a lot of research.

obviously if you have the job centre breathing down your neck you need to split your time between doing it right and doing whatever guff you need to to stop them treating you like a criminal.

I had my dream job within a few months
