If you work in a male dominated environment do you feel you get treated less well than male colleagues?

Because I certainly do.

Male colleagues get away with what they want. I get micromanaged.

Male colleagues get constant praise and acknowledgement. I get nothing for the same achievements. Even the low performing male colleagues get constantly bigged up.

Then todays thing; I did a work task the same way that all the male colleagues do it, day in, day out, and got a public 'bollocking' for it and apparently I'm doing it incorrectly

Is there anything as a woman I can really do about being treated unfavourably?

Well now I am very pissed off.

A male colleague has done the exact same thing I got in trouble for and not only got no telling off, he got praised for doing it that way!

I've had a few male colleagues try to disrespect me over the years.

I have put them straight immediately & they have apologised

Basically, you have to stand your ground & maintain your work standards to the best of your ability

Some people make incorrect assumptions !

I’m treated the same. You’ve got to have thick skin as this place isn’t like any environment I’ve worked in before. Think Accountants to Farming. Everyone says it as it is and that can
often come across quite sharp.

It’s often too subtle say anything.

Like this week, I was chatting with two male coworkers about a project. One talked about his past experience on a huge project, then turned to the other and said “I’m sure you’ve worked on huge projects like this, too.” He knows I have this experience but would just never acknowledge it this way. In fact, I have more years in this field than he does. God forbid he give me any credit though.
