Air BnB hosting?

Anyone here with experience with hosting Air BnB or other holiday accommodation and could share experiences? How much work is it really? Are we crazy to even consider it, or should have done it sooner already?

My husband is a farmer which just isn't very financially viable anymore with costs rising and sales dwindling, so we are thinking of diversification opportunities, and one that keeps coming up is glamping. We have space for two shepherd's huts, would run a generator and water to them so they're more in the glamping space than roughing it without modern comforts, there's some local council funding for tourism and diversification that could help pay part of the setup costs. The huts would be away from our house but guests would have to park by the farm buildings which is next door - we have a small car park for farm visitors so it wouldn't cause traffic issues.

But are we naively assuming it would be doable while also running the farm? The thinking is that we would pay for a cleaner to turn them over between guests, and they would be fully self-catering, so technically we would just have to take care of marketing, bookings and then check-in/out and whatever queries people have during their stay.

Watching with interest.
We are also farmers but need other income streams. I have a couple of old caravans in my garden that I have Airbnbed but at busy times I have to close off the dates as it's too much of a faff. That said I didn't not charge much as they're pretty basic. I'd love a shepherds hut (or two or three !) with better returns.
I will also look and see if our council have any grants available, that would be welcome news indeed ...
