Want to leave nursing - feel like a failure

I'm just wondering if anyone has been in the same position as me. I qualified 2 years ago as a band 4 (means i have to go back to university to get to a full Registered nurse/ band 5) then went on maternity and recently accepted a role on a ward and have been there for the past 7 weeks. I've not had a any amazing shifts yet and the shifts leave me feeling anxious and deflated. I feel i don't have the passion for nursing anymore (used to be a HCA) and feel that you really need to passion to keep your morale up in a role like nursing.

Ive worked on 2 different wards now and also within the community so feel i have experienced a few different settings and i've never had that feeling of loving getting up and going to work.

I'm thinking of applying for other roles, not another nursing role but could be related or something entirely different. And still maybe even picking up bank shifts at the trust i'm at now

Has anyone else quit nursing and what did you do?

Thank you

I quit after 20 years, I was exhausted from the nights and 24 hour shifts, just could not do it any more.
I'm a podiatrist now. 9-5 weekends and all bank holidays off.
Shame, I loved nursing but they made it too awful to stay.

that's what's getting to me too, I'm on mix of nights/days and with a baby I'm finding it hard to juggle. how did you get into podiatry, would you say your wage is the same?

Is this the nursing associate role? Could you try out patients for more regular hours? I have recently applied for a trainee nursing associate post but am so unsure when I see posts like this! I hope you find what you are looking for.
