It is for a part time theatre assistant at childrens hospital.

I am quite hopeful of at least getting to interview on this, as no experiance is required.

Have filled in the form, but just want some opinions on what I have put in the supporting info section.

I wish to apply for this post as I have a very keen interest in this area of work, and working with children.

'For the past 9 years I have mainly been a stay at home mum to my 3 children and in doing so have learnt so many things, patience, multi tasking, time management and ability to adapt to any given situation and to expect the unexpected.

My work as a childminder built on and developed these qualities, whilst adding extra organisational skills and specifically, record keeping skills, whilst learning how to juggle the demands of children of differing ages and levels of ability.

The job also meant dealing with the parents of the children, discussing hours, behaviour, payment and the general overall care of their child.

My other previous jobs have also always required me to work on my own and alongside other people, and have also required me to use my own initative when prioritising my workload, making sure that certain tasks were completed in the correct timeframe and completed well.

I feel I could offer a great deal to this post, reliability, enthusiasm, a caring attitude and a great willingness to learn all about the job and everything it entails. I would very much welcome any formal training such as NVQ's etc.

I am a competent computer user and can use one to do most basic tasks such as email, produce a word document etc but any formal training would be welcomed and completed with enthusiasm.'

Any good ??

Have also added this 'I would prefer a part time post, however full consideration would be given to any number of hours offered.' to the end too.

Sounds very good to me, there are a couple of small things I would change...
1 Where you have put 'my other previuos jobs...' I would put something like...' I have experience of working both alone and as part of a team, I have the initiative to deal with prioritising my workload, I can stick to a timeframe and always see a task through to the end. ' Or something?
Say you could BRING a great deal to the post, not OFFER, make it more positive if that makes sense.
Other than that it looks great to me, hth??? Good luck

I think it sounds really good - just make sure that if they have included a person spec in your application pack that you have addressed how you meet each point. I used to work in the public sector and when I recruited staff we had to follow a very strict shortlisting procedure which meant that each application was scored on how well they met each point on the person spec.
