Holiday overpayment

Just after some advice re holiday overpayment.
I was told by my manager that I had taken too many holiday days and now owe the company £80 pounds. Few weeks later she said it was £120 and that I would be receiving a letter and would be able to pay it back in installments as I have a fairly low wage.
A few days ago whilst at work she asked me if I'd had the money deducted from my march wage, which I hadn't. She said that was odd because she received a letter to 'action the deduction'.
But I haven't received a letter and Im now worrying that the full amount is going to be deducted next month without being warned first.
I completely accept i have to pay it back and am happy to do this but if it goes out at once I'll be absolutely screwed 😔
Anyone know whether this is allowed?

There will likely be a clause in your contract that allows for the company to take back any overpayment. If I were you I would take charge of the situation and speak to HR/Manager to organise a repayment that you find manageable.

Apologies just realised this was due to holiday entitlement - are you leaving the company? Can you not ask them if it's an option to take the days from this year's entitlement and fix it that way?

Can you not just work overtime, or take it out of the next year’s allowance ?
Id be questioning how management/HR allowed you to take too much leave.

They can't do that if it will take OP below statutory. Also her contract says she's entitled to those days

I wasn't keeping track of how many days I was booking. I stupidly thought I was still within the allowed days as management kept approving it. They do have a system online that shows how many days people have left but I should have kept track myself. No not leaving the company

Let it be a lesson then. If you're not leaving you should have options like taking it from the following years entitlement or to pay back in instalments that work for you.

Why can't you just hold a minus balance and when they accrue they are deducted
