not very ethical but I probably would

BirdyArms · 13/02/2008 16:12

Probably not but i am wimp

MrsBadger · 13/02/2008 16:12

only if I'd read the t&cs carefully - some places get shirty re money if you do less than 6m

Bramshott · 13/02/2008 16:13

Yes, I would. Who knows what might change in 2 or 3 months time.

hunkermunker · 13/02/2008 16:14

Why do you only need a job for that length of time?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/02/2008 16:18

I'm waiting for my PIN and CRB to come through so I can work as a m/w. I left the fact I'm a m/w off my CV

Although I don't actually have a m/w job yet, but I know my trust are advertising next month.

I'd probably temp, tbh.

Unless the money was stupendously good for the permanent job.

ChippyMinton · 13/02/2008 16:22

You might not like it and want to leave anyway, or you may not get the job you really want for a while.
Would it be hard for them to fill the post if you leave?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/02/2008 16:23

Not very good, no. I've signed up with temping agencies and am waiting to hear from them. My worry is that I don't get anything via a temping agency but I should, shouldn't I? I have plenty of office experience.

hunkermunker · 13/02/2008 16:29

Are you on a shortlist? Will they offer it to someone else if you don't accept it?

You could always tell them the truth and say you'll do it on a temp basis till they find someone else if it's just you they're offering it to?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/02/2008 16:40

They'll offer it to someone else if I don't take it. They shouldn't struggle to recruit if I left I wouldn't have thought.

A bird in the hand and all that...

You never know what might happen, your crb may take ages to come through, your trust may not advertise or may get too many applicants and you not get the job, you may end up really really enjoying this perm job and not wanting to leave.

I'd take it. Just leave later on saying sorry but its just not working out with childcare/travel/job expectations etc.

hunkermunker · 13/02/2008 16:55

Ach, take it then

Congratulations!
