Has anyone done the Supermums Salesforce Course?

Quick bit of context. I currently work from home full time as recruiter, on 35k PA, age 34.
I've been looking at a bit of a career change, my job is OK but I'm in rut and can't see any real career progression where I am and to be honest I don't even know if it's a career want to progress.

Have been doing some research and have come across SuperMums, basically you pay around £2000 for a five month course to become a Saleforce administrator and they also provide a lot of career coaching, a job placement and help you get interviews once qualified.

I actually searched Mumsnet for Supermums and found it mentioned on a few threads but would love to find someone who has actually done the course. They make it seem as if as soon as you're qualified you'll work straight in to a fully flexible work from home role on 60k, but I'm really not too sure how realistic that is

This is true. Just as most salesforce developers drift into it when their employer decides to change crm.

Agree with this. I’d also be highly surprised if the person I know in this role earned anywhere near 60k.

I've worked as a Salesforce administrator and the pay was nowhere near £60k.

I come from an IT/data background anyway, but learnt the Salesforce ecosystem using the free Trailhead courses.

Personally, the name 'Supermums' makes me cringe, but that doesn't mean it isn't legit.

I did the Supermums course last year, and it's definitely not a scam. You obviously can't make £60,000 a year just like that, it something you work up to and you have to pass the course for a start.

I earn quite a bit more now than I did before though, and I can work from home which was the main appeal for me as so it makes childcare much easier for my 3 and 1 year old.

A lot of the people I did the course with had it paid for them by their employers, however I did pay myself, and I really do this it was worth the money. I'm just finishing up the Supermums course, the £60k isn't a starting wage as an admin, admins tend to be earn £35k-£40k. But once you're working with Salesforce you can do additional certificates and grow.

It's not for everyone, and you can train yourself via Salesforce Trailheads but I wanted the structure and guidance of a course and researched for a few months and this was the best for me.

if you want to check out if a salesforce training provider is legit this is not the place! Clearly lots of people felt they had to say something when they don’t know anything about the question being asked. Supermums is an official training partner of salesforce & that should be easy for you to verify through salesforce.
I have just finished a Marketing Cloud course though I can’t comment on job prospects yet. Supermums will give you a certificate when you finish the course as a proof that you’ve completed the course but to be officially certified you have to sit & pass the salesforce exam but that’s no different to any other provider. Like I said use resources such salesforce trailhead academy or LinkedIn for more info not this bizarre forum!

supermums alumni here ! A couple of thing’s definitely not a scam ! I took the sales administrator course and am just about to start a new role as customer success manager (salesforce)
The programme is excellent… tuition for 5 months with lots of homework, the most excellent work experience placement, fantastic mentoring (my mentor is a CEO) ongoing career coaching, cv advice & huge amounts of support post the course. The alumni programme and ongoing support in role is fantastic - please google the founder Heather Black she is an unstoppable force for good championing single mothers, career changes & also returners to work like me. Recently supermums has supported a cohort of ukranian mums in retraining…. Highly recommend - happy to be pmed with any questions xx

This definitely isn’t an MLM! It’s a salesforce accredited course for a software used by virtually all tech companies.

That said, it might not offer good ROI as the tech sector isn’t in quite as strong a position as it was a couple of years ago. As someone else pointed out, salesforce themselves made significant layoffs this year.

That's like saying Microsoft are making redundancies so don't get a job working with MS Office. Salesforce is the name of the software as well as the company so unrelated.

Genuinely curious for the people saying you'd bin a CV for having Supermums, why? Surely how someone gets to the stage of passing the certification doesn't matter. If the have the certification and relevant experience that's what counts.

The only people who will make money out of this are the people running the course. You would be crazy to do it.

We needed a Salesforce Marketing expert with a few years experience where I work and apparently it was really hard to find someone, plus the pay was great. Also Microsoft experts seem hard to find quite a good career move if you have a logical brain and are good at admin.

Supermums is basically an online certificate for "I have more money than sense.com"

It's probably more comparable to becoming a minister online in the US. You have spent the cash, have a silly piece of paper, nobody actually takes it seriously but you CAN technically still do the vows. But you'll never be the "real deal" or anything close.

I'd search for advice elsewhere, doesn't necessarily have to be the supermums website, there's plenty of opinions/experiences from more tech-industry related forums. There's a whole ecosystem surrounding Salesforce and it's incredibly inclusive. Supermums worked for my wife who gained her Admin cert (a salesforce certification, not a supermums certification) after around 5-6 months. The course is very similar to other courses in terms of content but works around parenting schedules. This allowed my wife to manage childcare, part time work and her training (i wont sugarcoat it though, she worked hard and its was a lot to get her head around). They don't promise you a job at the end but my wife did get the first job she applied for. There's nothing magic or dodgy, the aim is to train you up to take a certification exam that is accessable in many other ways. I'd look into it because it can be incredibly rewarding and very accessible if you want to re-skill or jump to a well paid career.

In summary I'd recommend SF roles to everyone (and I do, ot annoys my brothers) but Supermums is just one way in. Must say it's a shame to see it panned on a Mums forum of all places 🤷🏻

Ps, trailhead is great, free and absolutely a way into Salesforce. Plenty of certified salesforce users will have self-learned their way in through trailhead, however this isn't for everyone and requires a tonne of drive, you also wouldn't get work experience in this way, something my wife did with two non-profits with Supermums. Have a look into it and see what you think would work for you!

What are you trained to do? What does a sales force super mum actually do? I can't figure it out from the posts above or from a quick look at the website. Seems bafflingly cloak and dagger and vague!

I absolutely wouldn't be putting anything called 'Supermums' on my cv on a matter of principle.

Having paid £2K to take the Supermums Administrator course I know the amount of value the course offers to its participants. Yes they do make a lot of promises but do not guarantee a £60K fully flexible job is guaranteed. Speaking solely of my own experience I started the course without any specific tech skills and a below £20K salary. After taking the course (which gave me the necessary knowledge to sit and pass the official Salesforce Administration Certificate) I was able to successfully apply for a Salesforce Administrator role which has a salary of over £40K. This is flexible and remote role too.

It is also worth noting, which I think a lot of the posts on this thread are failing to mention, that the Supermums course teaches the official Salesforce training material, that they partner with Salesforce, and that the purpose of the course is for the trainees to sit the official and universally recognised Salesforce certifications at the end of the training which is what any other Salesforce professionals have. As such a Supermum has the same accreditations on their CVs as other Salesforce professionals, they just have theirs alongside their training course provider, Supermums. I find it disappointing to hear that Supermums is being "laughed" at as I have always felt it is held in high regard and the Salesforce community as a whole are generally so encouraging of people who are trying to learn and develop within the ecosystem which Supermums is all about.
