What to expect from a NHS open interview?

Has anyone ever done one of these? I want to apply for medical secretary roles / admin and our local hospital are doing "open interviews" for loads of different roles (mainly IT and admin).

The advert also says you can pick and choose a job and your hours to fit with lifestyle. WFH is available too.

It all sounds a bit bonkers to me. I don't trust it 😂

Many thanks!

I'm a little anxious. I hate big events...

It depends on the trust really. My sister recently went to one and it was basically a presentation at the start 'selling' the trust and then they asked for those interested to stay and did a group activity followed by quick interviews individually and a look through CVs. They were told the next day if they'd been successful and for what role/location/hours. Meanwhile my friend went to one for HCSWs and it was cancelled twice at short notice, she got there and was told she should have booked an interview slot even though there was no way to do this, and most people left without doing anything.

I'd say print off your CV and take it along and be prepared with a few interview examples. Be yourself, if there's a group task I expect it's wanting to see how you work with others- ie not shouting over everyone but being confident to put your point of view across. It's worth a go, being public sector recruitment though wouldn't hold my breath...

@Bathflom God that sounds miserable. Like processing lambs for slaughter! 😬
