Getting cold feet about moving companies

Hello

I have accepted an offer at a new company side ways move for more money (which I need) and I'm having doubts.

I love my current company and some senior managers have expressed interest in retaining me offering me new opportunities for career development... but none of these offers are concrete and the company is in a period of transition / financial difficulty.

I want to stay and see if one of these opportunities will materialise as I mad?!

You had reasons for leaving though

Money I need to earn more. New role is 6k increase but potential roles could be the same / more if they materialise.

Just don't feel I can afford to wait.

It's normal to feel nervous about making a change.

Don't pack in a concrete job offer for vague empty promises. If you stay the nice words will evaporate.

Perfectly natural to feel some trepidation.

the company is in a period of transition / financial difficulty.

Sounds as if now is a good time to get out.

Stay in touch with anyone at the current place who offers you opportunities.

You can always talk about a return in a year if/when the company survives.

All the best.

I'm currently on notice period to move for more money/opportunities, I got fed up of the empty promises from my current company.

Unless they match the pay rise and a new role NOW, then no you are better going. You can always return in future when they've sorted themselves out!

Thank you all this is exactly what I needed to hear. Nice words and empty promises don't pay the bills!
