I’ve only had one job since I graduated, and so I’ve been there 25 years. I’m going for a new job, not totally unrelated but still a different job to the only one I’ve ever had. It’s not management grade, and advertised as suitable for new graduate etc. hence it’s advertised with a salary appropriate for that level of experience.
I am willing to accept the salary reduction for this job (I’d be going from 52k, to advertised salary of 24-26k) but I’m wondering is there ever flexibility in what they can pay or is it fixed at that advertised?
is this a daft question and it’s set in concrete? Or does it depend on the organisation? (This is public sector in case that makes a difference)
