Hello, need Flowery's advice, or anyone else who knows about employment regs. I've been working for my current employers for over 8 years, working for a district council. We do work for the county council (under an agency agreement - I'm a countryside ranger and look after the public rights of way), but are employed by the district, although the county contribute to the budget. We've been informed that the County council is considering taking back the agency agreement and therefore the work that we do. I've been told that our jobs are protected for a time under 2P regulations, i've tried googling this but can't find anything out, and no one seems to know how long they will be protected for, and if at the end of that time period they no longer want to employ all of us we will get redundancy payments for our service including the district council work period. Sorry thats quite complicated, I'm pretty concerned as I'm the most part time member of staff, although also the longest serving, but they've stated that they think we are overstaffed if they do take back us and our work.

If you google Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981 (TUPE) you should get all the info you need.
