Struggling with AAT

I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm struggling to get my head around AAT level 2 bookkeeping! I know this is such a basic level, too.

i am currently doing aat level 2 only synoptic left to do. You can find everything on youtube! I usually watch video on how to do assessment and they explain pretty well. also practice assessments on aat website. I found that actual exam is easier than practice!

@värskekapsas
Do you watch any particular channel for the youtube videos, please?

@solosunflower I have been watching Michael Norton videos very e
useful so far, I still have a long way to go but they are quite useful

@värskekapsas May I ask how long it has taken you to get to that part? Did you have any previous experience in accounting before?

@Wardza

Thank you. I'll have a look. Need to be more productive than watching Broadchurch!

I did the same, self studied AAT level 2 (didn’t sit exams) after baby 2. You have to memorise the rules and not worry about understanding until later eg DEADCLICK/PEARLS. It clicked during L3 when it comes together with the statements. I sat L3 exams and then got a job. Self studied ACCA while working and now qualified.

Just make sure you really want it as a lot of people fall into accounting/finance and don’t enjoy it. The entry level roles are often data entry, with no double entry knowledge needed. It’s also not highly paid until more senior levels.

I only earn 22k so anything has to be better than that.

Depending where you are, a starting salary might be less than £22k for a finance role

You need to be doing more than just the books, our trainee uses the online courses
