Applying for a job via a recruiter

I am new to the process of applying for a job via a recruiter and am looking for some advice please.

The recruiter has contacted me on LinkedIn and has been very helpful with the first two stages of the interview. I am now at the final stage.

What can I expect at offer stage (should I be lucky enough to be offered the job)? Will the company ring me up with the good news or will it be the recruiter and then I talk to the company afterwards to negotiate the salary? Or is it all done through the recruiter? (As in salary negotiations, date for first day etc)

I'm not entirely sure what to expect. So far, I have just dealt with the recruiter. All feedback and guidance has been given by them.

Thank you for any comments or help!

Well done!

The recruiter will do the offer and negotiation.

They will be realistic and highly motivated that you all come to an agreement.

If the recruiter is any good they will do the negotiations on your behalf. Good luck OP! What's the role? Are you happy with the salary / conditions they've suggested so far?

And remember it's at this point they get paid, or I should say once you accept the offer and start. So they'll be motivated to get you the deal you want to get you across the line.

Thank you, it's in banking. Yes, I'm happy with everything. I had to ask them to confirm the hybrid arrangement as that could mean anything, but yes, the salary and job role sound perfect.

Companies employ recruiters and they tell them what they need and they come to an agreement on what services are offered so it could be either the recruiter or the employer. We would not want a recruiter negotiating on our behalf or your behalf - it would be time the chaperone stood aside.

In my experience the recruiter will confirm the offer and start negotiations but the offer will come to you in writing from the employer and at that point you take over.
