Argh! 3 job opportunities - can decide

I have to chose between 3 jobs, all are quite senior positions.

Job A - very corporate, workload very heavy but in a prestigious project. Not really sure about the team yet.

Job B - stay longer at current job, super lovely staff, occasionally stressful but manageable. Job/project potentially will last another 18-36 months. (same company as job A). Overlaps/links in with job A.

Job C - different company and I have been head hunted. I have met some of the team and they are lovely. I have done some of this type of work before which I have enjoyed and have had lots of recognition. However, this is on a much bigger scale.

I keep flitting between each of them. I just can't decide.

Which one would you go for???? Argh. Have to decide by the weekend.

What’s the pay like?

FT123456 · 08/02/2023 18:55

I think it's a question only you can answer. I would factor in things like commute, money, responsibilities and any other benefits you may get.

Idlikeasize8please · 08/02/2023 18:57

Same pay for all. All short commutes.

I would stay out then what's to be gained?

Greensleevevssnotnose · 08/02/2023 18:58

Stay put

TheUndoing · 08/02/2023 19:00

If you leave your current employer you’d be giving up employment rights and an established reputation. I’d expect a pay rise to compensate me for that and I’m surprised the company that has headhunted you isn’t expecting that. Have you negotiated comp with them? I would in your shoes.

TiaraBoo · 08/02/2023 19:01

Are they contract or permanent roles?
What are the benefits like?

GoodChat · 08/02/2023 19:02

What's the timeframe on Job C? Is it perm or fixed term?

Idlikeasize8please · 08/02/2023 19:06

Probably more promotion opportunities with Job C. All are civil service jobs so same employment conditions.

If you stay on the current role - would you feel disappointed?
And if you did, would other opportunities come up later in the year/next year?

makingarunforit · 08/02/2023 22:43

If your current job is working and you enjoy it then I would stick with it.

Job C needs to offer more money than your current salary if they are headhunting you.

WoolyMammoth55 · 08/02/2023 22:46

Honestly if you're happy where you are then the only reason to risk a change/less lovely team, etc, is more money.

If the money's the same then stay put.

Polarbearyfairy · 09/02/2023 11:45

Job C - sounds like the best career builder to me.

yoshiblue · 09/02/2023 17:26

I thought C but I wouldn't move without a pay increase

JellyBellies · 09/02/2023 17:28

Job C, sounds the most exciting of all 3

considerablycuntierthanyou · 09/02/2023 17:31

C but with a payrise. Otherwise stay put.

Emmamoo89 · 09/02/2023 18:02

Stay put x

SuchandSuchandSuch · 15/02/2023 13:55

If you are happy to stay in your current role, you are in an excellent position to negotiate a pay increase with job C. The previous posters are right: if job C have headhunted you, they should be offering you more money. Change is good, so I think Job C is the best option. But you need to make the most of the excellent negotiating position you are in.

Christmaspyjamas · 15/02/2023 13:58

So you've two job offers and a secure job.

Which line manager do you have the best chemistry with?
Which company is growing fastest?
What's staff turnover like?
Which interview process was best managed?

I'm surprised you don't have a gut feel. If you do, go with it.

Sprig1 · 15/02/2023 13:59

If no pay increase then stay put.
