Hi! I just wondered if anyone has any good recommendations for footwear as I'm starting a Hca role soon as i'm not sure what to get. I am wearing a dress instead of the tunic and trousers

Crocs

I think Clark’s are shit, others disagree. I wear Asda active wear slip ons, they only last about 5 months but are £10 a pair and very comfy. Lots swear by Skechers. It’s trial and error really.

Need to be black wipeable fabric i.e leather as opposed to cloth- generally I prefer either sketchers with a memory insole if you can get a shoe type as opposed to a trainer type, or the clarks "nurse shoe" www.clarks.co.uk/c/Un-Loop/p/20312837 - which is very popular, my pair are 3 years old now and still going strong.

Crocs are generally not allowed for ward based/clinical based staff in most hospital trusts.

I’m a HCA and I wear these www.clarks.co.uk/c/Hope-Roxanne/p/26137200

I have to say my feet are throbbing at the end of a shift but I’m not sure whether that’s my shoes or just the fact I’m new and getting used to it! I suspect the latter. My ward manager also wears these shoes.

Fitflop, they are a little expensive but so comfy.

Definitely the "loop" Clark's one. (20 years nursing.)
When I worked in less clinical areas, I loved the black vans slip ons.

OT here and I've got these which do the job.

You basically want something that covers the whole of your foot, is wipeable, supportive and comfortable with decent cushioning.

Suggest you look at Clarks, ECCO (my favourite) and Hotter. Choose comfort over style and don't expect to be rocking it fashion wise. Comfortable fugly shoes will be your friend.
