NHS job application - can anyone advise?

My current job (public sector but not NHS) is under consultation for redundancy, and this has finally given me the kick up the butt I need to take a risk and apply for a training position in the NHS.

I'm part way through the application and trying to put together my supporting information; so far I've got 524 words and I think it sounds okay, but the application states "maximum 1500 words" - should I be aiming closer to that figure or am I over thinking this? Thanks for your help :-)

I think as long as you can tick off the essential and possibly desirable criteria requested then you’re good.

Try to get to 1000

Just aim to cover all the essential aspects of the job desc and person spec and that should be enough, even if it doesn’t meet 1500 words :)

Word count doesn't matter, they will be checking against the criteria on the person spec so make sure you cover everything on there and try not to ramble. I've recruited an awful lot of people in the nhs and always prefer personal statements which are clear, concise and easy to read. You can include subheadings and bullet points now too. Good luck!

Thanks all, I've submitted with just under 900 words, and all are relevant and matched to the person spec - I did pad it out a bit so it's just fingers crossed now!
