Work
Where do I stand? What shall I do?

I've been on mat leave for a year and returned December but have lots of annual leave to use up.
There have been multiple issues with my manager and I still haven't been sorted a return date.
My manager has known my plans for returning to work since August 2021, I've been in for multiple keeping in touch days and discussed my appraisal when I return , what days, hours I will return on etc etc .
Well my manager has been pretty shocking.
For one, I didn't get paid anything in December because she didn't hand the forms in on time. I only know this is the reason because I phoned payroll.
Two, she did the forms completely wrong and for the wrong hours so the pay wouldn't have been processed correctly.
It's January 20th and I still haven't received an advancement of pay. I've spoke to payroll and they said it's not their job to chase it up. I've spoke to my manager 3 times over the phone and also emailed.
I got an email 2 weeks ago on a completely different issue that my annual leave looks wrong and I may return "earlier than anticipated" , these are her words.
I phoned her and she said she doesn't know when I'll return as waiting for HR to get back to her.
I still don't know my return date so for all I know it could be in a couple of weeks time.
I tried to work out my annual leave but it's hard as my contracted hours would've changed from December but I think it takes me to a return date of 2nd week in Feb.
Another issue, she didn't complete the form for the KIT days so I won't get paid for them.
I'm stressed, I've spent so many days stressing because I'm worried I'm not even going to be paid for January.
This month we have really really struggled financially.
I don't know what to do. I tried going higher up to the other manager and he's told me he's too busy to sort it out.
For context I work in the NHS. I will be looking for a new job on my return but wish to get my skills up to date first.
What do I do now?

Do you have any employment law support available to you? It sometimes comes with house insurance?
You need a solicitors letter - a really fucking stern one. A written account for everything and they will have to acknowledge it.
This can be classed as maternity discrimination.
Throw everything at them. Including the fact that your manager’s manager refused to help.
Good luck. Pressurise them. Freak them out.

OMG - this sounds so stressful, what NIGHTMARE. Are you in a union? Can your union rep help?

I will have a look at my home Insurance docs thanks
I've literally been on to them and phoned, emailed, all in an extremely professional manner.
It's actually disgusting how I've been treated.

I knew this would be the NHS as soon as I started reading it! I'm in a similar situation. It's breathtaking. No advice to add to what helpful PP have already said, sorry, just solidarity.

It is disgusting OP. Fight back, and hard.
Use the word discrimination in emails (so there’s a paper trail). Because it is. And because legally it puts the shit up them.
Get legal advice today from wherever you can and start taking action.
Rooting for you 💪🏼
