I'm having a difficult time at work right now - have posted about this before - but looks like I'm being pushed out following a change in top management.
I've been assured there are no performance issues and it's a case of office politics/my face not fitting.
I've been in the role under a year, although I've worked within the overall company for getting on 5.
I'm still in post but many of my key responsibilities which I enjoy and excel at have been removed, with presumably the intention of handing them to someone else known by the new team.
Given the writing looks to be on the wall and I can feel my confidence diminishing by the day, I'm exploring other options.
I have an interview for a new job with another organisation which looks interesting.
Inevitably the question of why I'm leaving the job so soon will come up. Not really sure how to handle this.
Don't want to insult the interviewers' intelligence but also don't want to bad mouth the current organisation or come across as negative,
I'm not sure I can get away with saying its mat cover/secondment either as the industry is quite small.
I'm worried telling the truth will make it look like I have problems fitting in more broadly. I'm genuinely interested in the role and want them to consider me on my abilities and not on assumptions.
Wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and how they handled it?
