retrain as radiographer in my 40s?

Just looking for some advice really. I was a registered midwife overseas, I have moved back to the UK after a long time abroad. I haven't registered here, I miss working with women and clinical work, but the chronic understaffing and constant worry about substandard care got to me in the end.

I was always interested in radiography and sonography at work, and I'm considering going back to uni to retrain. A 2-3 year course (either diploma or BSc) will see me qualify at 45! Perhaps the kicker is I don't want to do nights, as an RM I did 12 hour nights every week (usually day, night, night). I can't sleep in the day so I'd get 4 hours sleep between nights. I have an arrhythmia that can be triggered by sleep deprivation. The cardiologist kept offering to write me a letter recommending that I come off nights, but I felt that management would hate me for it so I ploughed on and did occasionally have episodes at work. If I were to retrain now, I'd tell occy health from the outset that I can't do nights. I am not sure if this would make me unemployable though.

If you did direct entry sonography then I believe that wouldn't have any night shifts, and it would fit well with your prior experience
