If it got you into a better working life? I'm currently a cleaner. I work all sorts of silly hrs and get phoned at the drop of a hat. I've secretly been applying for other things and have been offered a job on £20k that has great pension and opportunities also no weekends, late nights or bank holidays. It's a 360 completely different job which I have no experience in which is probably why they have offered me the 20k

Whats your thoughts?

So currently I'm on £9:50 per hr and do 16 ish hrs a week but I work unsociable hrs and bank holidays etc. this job makes way for career development etc.

My husband is a ceo in his firm so I don't 'need' the money it's more of me doing something for me kinda thing

Absolutely! Good luck

Yes. See it as a stepping stone, it might open doors.

I don't fully understand why you are asking if people would move to a better paid job if they could? Surely the answer is yes?

Your OP gave the impression it would be a drop to £20k

This.

Yes take it and give it a go, especially as your DH earns a reasonable amount. If you don't like it, or its turns out to be not what you expected, you can always go back to cleaning. But opportunities like this don't come up very often, and you'll be kicking yourself if you turn it down.

I guess it's the big change in doing something different but I want to do something for me now.

DH is fab and we have a great lifestyle because of him but I'm the sort of person that like to work, DH has encouraged me to go with what makes me happy

I think personally it is all down to individual circumstances. £20k after deductions per month is £1468. With the OP stating that their husband is the CEO of his company and therefore money is not an issue then I can’t see no reason why not to take the position.
Seems like better terms and conditions than the current role too. I would go for it.
