How many annual holiday days should I have if I work 2.5 days a week?

The full time holiday allowance is 5.6 weeks (28 days) including bank holiday/public holidays.

I work every morning. Does that mean I get 14 days or do I still get 28 days because I only work the morning?

Work it out in hrs, you will get half of the full time hrs x

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 28/11/2022 17:59

You need to calculate it in hours.

You'll get 5.6 weeks still but calculated based on less hours in a week.

You get 28 of your days which are half days. So if you take a week off you use 5 days of 3.5 hours each.

thinkfast · 28/11/2022 18:00

Do you work 5 full mornings a week? If so, you'd get the full 28 days' leave, payable at your usual rate ie paid for half a day

madroid · 28/11/2022 18:28

Yes - 3.5 hours every morning.
In terms of hours, I'd be entitled to 28 x 3.5 hours= 98 hours?

How do I deduct the 9 public holidays in 2022? As full days or half days (3.5 hours per day)?

If you work 5 mornings week then you can just count days

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 28/11/2022 18:33

You're over complicating it.

Your day is short but it's still a day. You get 8 bank holidays and 20 annual leave days. Each day whether AL or BH is 3.5 hours.

madroid · 28/11/2022 19:07

Thanks everyone.

So the answer is I can book 28 days the same as the full-timers? Because my holiday is the first 3.5 hours of every day? Is that right?

You're entitled to 14 days statutory holiday

dementedpixie · 28/11/2022 19:13

If you work 5 days you get 28 days holiday but your day is only 3.5hours long

Or do it as 5.6 weeks x 17.5 hours = 98 hours
Bank holidays deducted at 3.5hours each

You're entitled to 14 days statutory holiday

She's entitled to 28 of her short days
28 x 3.5 hours = 98 hours
5.6 weeks x 17.5 hours = 98 hours

HappyHamsters · 28/11/2022 19:17

how many hours a week? 3.5hrs x 5 is 17.5hrs a week, are full time hours calculated at 35hrs a week.

dementedpixie · 28/11/2022 19:20

It doesn't matter about the full time hours as OP is entitled to the same number of days as them as she also works 5 days albeit they are shorter days than the full time staff

burnoutbabe · 28/11/2022 20:33

I'd say it depends on your holiday system.

You are owed 14 days holiday.

However when you book a morning off, it only takes 0.5 of a day. So you get 28 of those to use.

This assumes your holiday system allows 0.5 of a day.
