Commuting costs on train and flexible working - how do you do it?

DD has just got first job in career in central London. We are based in the commuter belt (on the further end)
She has been told that it will likely be three days in the office, 2 at home but with some flexibility both ways . At the moment she is buying tickets by the day until she figures out a routine but this is a pain collecting the tickets in the morning.
Just wondered what other commuters do when they do a mixture of home/office?

I use Trainline. I have my work trip saved as a favourite in the app and book as needed and the QR code appears in the app. No collecting tickets. They also do a flexible season ticket for a certain number of tickets per month. I haven't used that yet but seems good

Can’t she buy mobile tickets, I.e. buy and keep them on her phone?

I don't know about the mobile tickets, I'll ask her but I know she's been collecting them each day so far (to get through the barriers)
She did apply for a 'card' from SE rail so I don't know if you can use that in the same way.
The flexi season ticket is only 8 days a month, not quite enough really.

The mobile tickets allow you to get through the barriers by scanning a QR code.

Advance tickets on my phone using the SWR app works for me.
