Hi, I currently work for my husband doing the admin.
but I want to get a job away from the house as I currently work at home.
I have been a stay at home mum for 13 years now.
l have applied for a job as an admin assistant and have an interview.
now I know I can do the role as I’m a quick learner but I’m not confident on a computer, I know the basics but I only use word for my current role.
should I go?
or am I just going to be embarrassed?

Go to the interview you have nothing to lose. It will be good practice even if you decide it isn’t the right job for you.

Go to the interview, The more interview practice you get under your wing the better. Good luck x

You've nothing to lose by going. Good practice. But also, some training on Excel might benefit you.

Yes definitely go. Note down the questions they asked as soon as you can after the interview. If you don’t get the job, it helps to prepare for the next interview.

I suppose I’m worried that if I get the job I will look stupid!

My advice is to go for the interview and then, if you get offered the job, get some basic excel training in. Excel is much easier than it might at first appear. I train people in excel from time to time and in a couple of hours it's possible to learn a lot. Go for it 👍

I agree with what everyone else has said. Word is intuitive. Excel? Not so much. But a couple of hours teaching will make a HUGE difference.

Thank you everyone

When is the interview? If you've got time to watch some YouTube videos and have a practice on Excel beforehand, do that. Even better do you have a friend who could sit down with you for an hour and show you the basics?
