Excel spreadsheet

I have a new role which requires me to be more proficient in excel - so creating basic formulae and being able to manipulate the spreadsheet a bit more.
Can anyone recommend any free online training? I have of course had a look online and have spotted a few youtube ones but just wanted to hear if anyone found something that was quite useful to them.

I'm older and until my present job hadn't really used excel much .Whatever task I'm trying to do in excel, I just Google it (I google a lot !) YouTube always comes up with the answer.

It depends what you need to do really. I've found it easier to Google very specific tasks eg 'excel how to get average values' or something like that - general training may not cover what you need.

I was coming to say the same.

I have ended up in a role where my excel skills were really lacking. I use Google.

I find excel courses are ok. But unless you use the things you have learned on a regular basis, you forget it and have Google anyway as a prompt.

simple formulas will have loads of information online

Do you know what manipulation you will need to do?

Thanks all. Things like copying info and creating tabs that everyone around me seem very adept at. Feeling a bit prehistoric!

I think you’ll find some on Linkedin, or have you looked on YouTube?

You could try the free courses on Alison: alison.com/tag/excel

But for most things Google and YouTube will help. If you can practice a bit on your laptop at home you will only need an hour or two to master the basics.

will have a look and a play around!

Look up MissExcel she's good and does some free stuff

Have a look at @exceldictionary on instagram, she's excellent

Excel courses are only good at showing you what is possible with excel (which is pretty much everything and I think they're mostly a waste of time!)

Definitely just Google anything you need at the time. It starts to all sink in when you do it.

Microsoft have their own online tutorials that are pretty good.
