Which job no people?

Does anyone know of a job in which I would never have to deal with people or the public again again because quite frankly I’ve had enough of them at my age and I’m sick of being self employed never knowing when I’m going to get paid?
A job that would pay a wage I can actually live on not just barely survive or exist on. Say £750 a week net.

I know an architect who only deals via email. Gets paid a couple a grand a week as well.

Not sure you can avoid people entirely, but software development is usually fairly low interaction. I have a few team meetings but otherwise spend the day alone getting on with my work.

Cuddlywuddlies · 08/10/2022 10:33

Do you want to avoid people altogether or just serving public etc?

Management accounts - especially if you are just processing the data, rather than then meeting with budget holders.

Back office NHS. Managers will act like you don't exist and that the work is done by magic. Perfect.

Don’t bother with NHS, that will make you want to become a hermit on a remote island and never interact with another soul for the rest of your days!
They have the strange ability to recruit the worst of the worst, the good don’t last long.

Seconded. Dealing with the ICBs at the moment is like wading through treacle with some limited exceptions. Those exceptions will leave and I will CRY!

This. Although 750 a week would also be magic in the NHS. Unless you go for a job as a biscuit eating senior manager.

@BluesDad
What do you do? What might related jobs be?

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 18/01/2023 20:15

What skills, quals, experience do you have?

You want about £55k a year so it's going to be a job that will expect some experience or qualifications not entry level.

Management accounts is not done like that, in thirty years as an accountant in multinationals I do not recall one single person that has done nothing but process data. A management accountant would require excellent communication skills and will work with lots of people.

OP or your question, I cannot see how there can be any job that does not involve other people.
