Accused of bullying harrassment nhs

I have been accused of bullying/harrassment for a very very stupid reason I work for nhs I was just wondering if it is dismissal or warning as first time I’d found guilty which I am pretty certain I am not

Make sure the onus is on them to prove it. You and your union rep want to see the evidence.

Are you saying this is a second accusation? And the first time round the allegations were found to be true?

If that’s the case let’s hope it’s dismissal so that nobody else is subject to your bullying and harassment at work!

A lot would depends on your attitude towards the issue which will need work before any investigatory meeting.🙄

Are you with a union? You will potentially need representation from your union rep.

The formal process has several stages.

It would help if you gave a brief overview.

It must be bad if they are actually doing something about it. The NHS normally sweeps this kind of stuff under the carpet.

I guess it depends what you've actually been accused of.

You need to let us know what happened. Usually your manager would have had a meeting with you on several occasions to try to sort it out before it went too far. Is it a one off incident or is someone accusing you of bullying them over a longer period of time? Have you been warned about it before and continued to do it? We need context op.

Basically the accuser phoned up my colleague and stated he was going somewhere he shouldn’t be so I’ve then rang a supervisor to say that the accuser shouldn’t be going where he has said he is and now he is claiming that he is being picked on etc never been in trouble before in my life and I am not a nasty person at Al

Depends entirely who it is. If it's a manager they will very often claim bullying and harassment if staff below them object to anything or try to make them accountable for poor performance

Have you put anything absolutely anything in private texts or messages eg I’m going to dob him in?
have you mentioned any dislike of him personally on any level
to anyone? Has he or they got a protected characteristic you have commented on? Or to others?

was it something illegally or wrong he was doing? Or just he was off Sick but nipping to Tesco?

Why are you assuming you are going to be found guilty? Unless there is more background to this, making one phone call about a breach of rules is not bullying and harassment.

If you are in a TU ask them to support you and accompany you to the investigation interview.

I can’t see the part where it was anything to do with you, or why you jumped to rat on him so quickly - perhaps this, coupled with other things that may have been observed are what have led them to the conclusion of bullying. It could sound like you were gleefully waiting for him to put a foot wrong and we’re overjoyed when you found the opportunity to report him.

Were you in charge? Or acting in any kind of senior/supervisory capacity? Was the person who your colleague called in charge at the time and you have been seen to be going above their head?

Sorry, but it sounds like there's more to this than you're letting on and it would be very odd indeed that you being a snitch is the sole basis of the complaint.

The nhs is a crap employer.
My daughter was accused of something she hadn't done. Cctv proved she was innocent.
She left her much loved job.
If she had stayed she would of had a 12 month written warning for whistleblowing dangerous working.
They really don't give a shit

I agree there must be more to this, but reporting someone for breaking the rules does not make you a rat or a snitch.

For example imagine a porter decided to go and watch an operation where you were the patient. How would you feel knowing you were unconscious, possibly exposed and someone who was not medically qualified was watching. I would hope any professionals in that setting would report it.

@ZealAndArdour @jesusjoan would neither of you rat or snitch on a colleague committing fraud, breaking the law etc.?
