Looking for career advice for husband as he is honestly falling into depression.
Mid thirties, we have a 6 y/o
He worked from leaving school in the same company and made his way up to Area Manager (customer services/ retail) in transport.
I won't go into the detail but he lost his job last year.Mortgage needed to be paid & I was on furlough so he applied for anything and everything and got a job in car sales. He enjoyed it but he was never home and then new cars were put on hold so he moved across to a customer service role, but he was miserable in it so i made him leave.
He has now secured an account manager/sales role for an engineering firm as the hours are amazing so he now as an opportunity to study / get his aspirations sorted out and plan his career. I'm earning alot more now so we are financially OK to pay for study/ pay drop etc.
The trouble is he doesn't know what he wants to do. He just knows he misses managing people and we both miss his old salary! So I'm thinking a future in tech as being realistic, its the future. His old industry is dead (rail)
But, coding, maths and data just aren't him. He loves people , development, training, creative, marketing, digital etc.
To get into a tech company what should he look at studying (left school with 2 a levels, no degree) it will need to he part time in evenings. And what kind of jobs can be in tech but more people and customer service rather than IT and data?
Thank you for any advice as completly new to this.
